Not Enough Orgasms? Time For The G-Shot

There is an new procedure going around that proposes to help women locate their g-spot and give them much more sensitivity in the area, thus increasing the frequency and the intensity of their orgasms. It’s called the G-Shot and it consists of administering a shot of collagen directly into the g-spot. The idea, as I understand it, is that it swells it up to a much larger size. So much so that pretty much anything going inside the vagina will rub against it.

Before we go any further, take a second and absorb the idea of a needle being injected into the g-spot. Once the shudders subside, we’ll continue. Ready? OK. This procedure has apparently been around a few years, although today was the first I’d heard anything about it. It was apparently concocted by Dr. David Matlock, who runs the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute (you really can’t make this kind of stuff up), in, you guessed it, Beverly Hills.

I have several issues here, the primary of which is that people are resorting to surgeries and injections in order to achieve good sex, rather than taking the time to actually learn about having good sex. Also, the media has hyped up the idea of g-spot orgasms so much that it seems like if you aren’t having one, you aren’t REALLY having sex. It’s quite possible that g-spot stimulation just really isn’t your thing.

Having said that, I know that the normal reaction by many in the sex community would be to call this out as a terrible thing. Women are modifying their bodies in the hope for a quick fix when what they really need is a seminar on masturbation. For reference, just check out Tristan Taormino’s column on this procedure.

But I’m not so sure I think this is so bad. All of those negatives may be true, but I can’t help but think there is a bit of hypocrisy there. People go out regularly and get piercings and whatnot because it will increase their clit or nipple sensitivities. Or because that tongue ring will help them give better head. And that is ok, partly, I believe, because it has an air of counter-culture to it. Some guy in a tattoo shop will do that and you are being a ‘free spirit’. But anything cosmetic or superficial done by a plastic surgeon, well, that’s just mysoginistic and fake.

So Ash and I are both intrigued by this. Not that we are totally convinced that this will give the desired outcome of easily achieved mind-blowing orgasms. In fact quite the opposite. All you are doing is swelling up the size of the area. You are not adding any nerve endings. Just making the area easier to hit. But we also weren’t completely against the idea either. If it actually does what it says, we both agreed that, assuming it is safe with little to no side effects, it would be something worth trying. And assuming you have the extra $1500 cash laying around for a 4-month-long effect (yowsers!).

I think the other big caveat would be that you also have already done your homework regarding how to have good sex. That you have already done all of the legwork to ensure that you are having the best sex you can have without resorting to ‘quick fixes’. If that’s the case and you are interested in the idea, I’d say go for it.

We’d really like to hear from you regarding your opinions about this. So please leave us a comment below and let us know what your take on this is.

  1. I’ve heart from it and thought it were a joke. But my sister tried the G-Shot last month and she said that the feeling is more intensive. But every 9 month you have to repeat the surgery.
