With all the new happenings with launching the new website, blog and all that jazz, along with trying to keep the retail store attended to, we forgot mention that May is ‘National Masturbation Month’! I know, that’s very slack on our part, but we’re making up for it now.

To commemorate, The Center For Sex & Culture in San Francisco is taking things into their own hands (I basically wrote this article so that I could use that phrase ) and has put together their Masturbate-A-Thon On Sunday May 25 to raise money for sex education and safety programs. The main event is a series of competitions in which people compete in categories such as ‘Longevity’, ‘Most Orgasms’ & more.

They’ve got quite a few categories set up and they are split across gender lines, which is pretty obvious. I don’t think the men would stand a chance in the ‘Most Orgasms’ competition. They’ve got guest speakers, such as Nina Hartley and Tom Orr and a whole host of activities going on.

The best part is that you don’t have to visit San Francisco to participate. They’ve got cams set up so that you follow the days festivities. They have blog that has been running articles all week long. They’ve started a Facebook group so that participants can share their stories and they’ve started a program using Twitter to post quick meesages that they are referring to as “Twittergasms”.

All-in-all it seems like it’s going to be a fun event and even if you can’t get out to San Fran, you can still get involved in the action. For all of the details visit the Masturbate-A-Thon Website.
