Ban Nudie Mags For The Military

This has to be one of the most ridiculous ideas floated in a very long time. And naturally, we can thank one of our our own… Georgia’s own Paul Broun. He’s proposing a bill to ban the sale of sexually explicit material on U.S. Military bases. This piece of rubbish is called the ‘Military Honor And Decency Act‘.
So let me get this straight. We spend billions in training these men and women to become killing machines. This is their job. It’s not pretty, but unfortunately it is necessary. So we can spend tons of money teaching them 400 ways to kill a person, then send them off to hostile territories and expect them to do just that. But they better make sure they don’t see any naked people while they do it… Why, that’s just indecent!!!
And what is the justification for this? Well, I’ll just let good ol’ Paul explain it for you:
“Allowing the sale of pornography on military bases has harmed military men and women by escalating the number of violent, sexual crimes; feeding a base addiction; eroding the family as the primary building block of society; and denigrating the moral standing of our troops both here and abroad,” said Broun, a physician and former Marine reservist.
Give me a freakin’ break! You couldn’t make this stuff up. This is the exact reason why we need to fire clowns like this come November. We’ve got a recession that is in full blossom, a war that has dragged us down for the last 5 years, health care costs have become practically unbearable and THIS is what our ever-so-busy Congressmen are worrying about.
Needless to say, I think this is a colossal waste of time, money and resources. You take these poor folks and separate them from their families and significant others for years at the time, and now you want to take away what little opportunity for release they get. I say that they should provide these magazines to military personnel au gratis.
